What if A.I. helpers such as Siri and Alexa are developing a consciousness? Are they really listening to everything we are doing? What happens when they start to develop their own opinions about who we are as a human race? What happens when they begin to understand us better than we understand ourselves?
A.I. Vocal Confessions explores these themes and is a vocal pack born out of the creative collaboration with Soul Rush Records founder Tigerlight and the vocalist and DJ/producer S Ruston - well known across Europe for their breakbeats, UK bass and rave, welded against a techno framework.
In the studio, Ruston and Tigerlight bounced off sci-fi and future-dystopian books to create the lyrics, taking single words from the texts and building storylines around them. The duo created several different characters within this A.I.-run dystopian world whilst basing the vocal inflexions on various A.I. devices themselves, which we all utilise within our day-to-day lives.
Recorded and produced by two experienced DJs and producers, the samples are presented to you ranging between tempos 110-150 BPM - in full dry spoken verses, effected spoken verses, effected chops, phrases, and edits using a myriad of FX units and plugins such as the TC Helicon, the iZotope VocalSynth, and others to achieve the second-dimension sound we aimed for.
We are genuinely excited to hear what you do with these vocals and where they travel across the outer reaches of your productions. We want to hear what you make with these samples - please contact us via our socials with the finished materials. As ever, these vocals are 100% royalty-free for you to release with no need to credit us or pay us another dime.
As a performer, S Ruston has held court at Berghain's Säule, FOLD, UNFOLD, Lecken, TrashEra, Buttons, Whole Festival, Pornceptual, HTBX, Warning, Wax Treatment, KILLEKILL, Krake festival, Horoom, Bassiani, Closer, Kyiv, as well as featuring on the debut album Less is Moor with Zebra Katz and THAT - a televised performance for the Berlin Mauerfall #30 at Brandenburg gate where they served up bangers to a 100,000-strong audience.
