In putting together this exciting collection of royalty-free samples Inspired by the deep sound of cinematic electronica, Looptone enlisted the scoring and production talents of renowned audio wizard Glen Nichols, aka Future Funk Squad, Axiomatic, Atatika et al. Glen’s professional experience extends through filmmaking, TV trailers, advertising and dance music production, and he’s worked for some of the industry’s most influential companies and bands as a remixer, producer, composer and mixing/mastering engineer.

In the studio, Glen draws on a powerful combination of analogue and digital outboard and in-the-box production gadgets to realise his fresh approach to the hybrid scoring sound.

Filmtronica delves deep, mixing driving, pulsing synth elements with organic instrumentation, delivering a beautiful widescreen audio palette designed for scoring to picture, as well as manipulating into electronica, chill and even dance tracks.

The pack contains a hefty selection of fat, warm synths, boundary-pushing drums and percussion, drones, tones, evolving arpeggios, tension-building pulses, and emotional, evocative pads and pianos.

In producing Filmtronica, Glen used a mixture of depth-enhancing techniques, such as running sounds out to tape, deploying odd and interesting outboard, and never just bouncing soft synths down directly.

As a starting point, Filmtronica contains nine layered ‘song’ construction kits, comprising 53 loops in total, ranging from 80-130BPM.

Then there’s a set of 15 evocative atmospheres, and plenty of evolving arpeggios, pulses and other sequences – ideal source material for soundbeds and cinematic builds.

Keeping the emotional element to the fore, Filmtronica also includes a great selection of vibe-setting synth pads, strings, pianos and other keys. And on the percussive side of things, the 43 drum loops have been pushed through Glen’s magical collection of signal processing boxes, taking them to a whole new level.

This royalty-free sample pack is geared up for direct scoring use and hybrid trailer/film/TV, as well as electronica, chill, downtempo and hybrid dance music.
