Aimed at producers of the stylistic electronic music fusion that is wave - but equally at home in downtempo and other laid-back settings - Sample Diggers' latest is a suitably sulky collection of one-shots and loops (at 125 and 140bpm) that perfectly captures the monolithic sound of the genre. Slow, rumbling basslines, skittish half-time beats, reverb-drenched synths and pitched up vocals - there's nothing here that could be described as groundbreaking, but Wave & Trap's utility comes from its perfect poise and expert production.
