This new pack from Loopasters features world-music infused percussion, guitars and mallet riffs alongside punchy drums, hard bass and synth loops, which add a heavier sound-system flavour. There are 313 loops in a range of formats with some well-programmed, energetic drum and percussion grooves plus some excellent, upbeat mallet patterns. There are also some mostly decent, but occasionally basic-sounding, synth parts. You get 100 bass and music MIDI files too, so you can experiement with your own sounds. To round things off, there are 120 sampler patches and one-shots that cover tight drums, a blend of organic and electronic synth and bass hits and a handful of useful effects sounds. The more organic-sounding parts of this pack arguably outshine the synthetic ones, but when things come together, it makes for a compelling combination, with crisp and spacious production throughout the collection.
