This is the only organic sample library reviewed in this issue, and it’s refreshingly good. The instrumentation, performance and the overall delivery of Traditional Cuban Percussion is authentically Latin. You’ll find 277 loops and 165 one-shot samples that were carefully made from the ground up. TCP’s main folder consists of twelve full percussion kits – meaning each kit contains percussion parts that you can mix and match to build patterns and grooves for your arrangements. There are plenty of sounds included, such as caja loops, low drum samples, conga loops, bell samples, mixed percussion, shaker loops, maraca samples, tumba loops and more. Since this pack has a wide range of tempos, the loops can be used all across different genres such as jazz, DN’B, downtempo, chillout and Latin house. What’s nice about this pack, and this I think is the selling point, are the 165 one-shot samples. You can use these to build your own percussion kits or drum rack within your DAW. The bells, congas, maracas and caja are clearly recorded. A small amount of sampler patches (Kontakt, EXS24) makes this an attractive pack, too. And with the quality you get from Organic Loops one should consider getting this pack.
